Getting Started with ResumeStore

This guide walks you through creating your account, uploading your resume, and running your first ATS report. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of your score and concrete steps to improve it.

Create your account

  1. Go to the pricing page and choose a plan or start a free trial.
  2. Create your account with your email and a secure password.
  3. Verify your email if prompted, then sign in.

Tip: Use the same email you use for job applications so saved jobs and alerts line up across tools.

Upload your resume

Supported formats: PDF and DOCX. We recommend PDF for most users.

  1. From your dashboard, click Upload Resume.
  2. Select your file. Keep it under 5 MB.
  3. Confirm the parsing preview looks correct (name, contact info, sections).

If parsing looks off, see Troubleshooting Upload Issues.

Run your first ATS report

  1. Paste a job description or upload a job posting.
  2. Click Analyze. We’ll generate an ATS score and key findings.
  3. Review sections: Keywords, Formatting, Experience match, and Recommendations.

Learn how the score works in Understanding Your ATS Score.

Improve your score

  • Add missing keywords: Incorporate exact phrases from the job description where they reflect your experience.
  • Fix formatting: Use standard section headings and avoid text boxes or images for critical information.
  • Tailor bullet points: Quantify outcomes and prioritize achievements that map to the role.
  • Use a compatible template: See Choosing the Right Resume Template.

Repeat Analyze after edits to track progress. Most users see a 10–25 point improvement with one iteration.

Common issues

  • File won’t upload: Ensure it’s PDF/DOCX and under 5 MB; try another browser.
  • Score seems low: Check that the job description is specific and includes all requirements.
  • Sections not detected: Rename headings to standard labels like “Experience”, “Education”, “Skills”.

Still stuck? Contact support and include your file and the job link.
